Our Vision for a Better Life

Daryl Ng
Deputy Chairman
Sino Group

Cities are where most people around the globe live, work, flourish and thrive. Instinctively and throughout millennia, humans love being close to nature, enjoy human-centric environments while the advent of technology like AI is shaping the development of smart cities, bringing more ease and convenience in these modern times.

As a committed corporate citizen, we create more than just buildings, we seek to create a better life together — this is encapsulated in our vision of ‘Creating Better Lifescapes’.

Lifescape is our vision – to build a better life together, where communities thrive in harmony by embracing green living and wellness, by engaging with all and pursuing meaningful designs, and by seeking innovation while respecting heritage and culture.

Committed and together, we create better communities where people live, work and play.

This is the guiding principle of how we approach projects at Sino. From architectural planning and sustainability initiatives to green property management and serving the community, we seek to create a better community.

We build homes that anchor memories, develop lifestyle-oriented malls where delighted customers shop, dine and relax, build workplaces where businesses grow, and deliver warm hospitality that enable guests to enjoy happy moments.

Our vision is brought to life through efforts in six pillars, namely Green, Wellness, Design, Innovation, Heritage & Culture and Community; these six values shape the way our colleagues plan, design and work. For instance, 133 Portofino, our latest residential project in Sai Kung, has become the first residential property in Hong Kong to receive the WELL v2™ pre-certification, the world’s first architectural benchmark focusing exclusively on human health and wellness to improve sustainability. The standard measures the quality of air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community, elements that are essential to well-being. As we spend more than 90 per cent of our time indoors, the built environment has a profound impact on our health and productivity.

Heritage is supported in the preservation and adaptive reuse of century-old properties such as our flagship The Fullerton Hotels in Singapore and Sydney, as well as Tai O Heritage Hotel in Hong Kong, through our not-for-profit organisation, Hong Kong Heritage Conservation Foundation, which also promotes eco-tourism and sustainable development in the charming Tai O fishing village.

We provide a holistic innovation ecosystem through the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation to help to nurture and foster innovation. By instilling innovation in our next generations from a young age and helping them to unleash their creativity, we hope to equip them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to thrive in the new era.

The ‘Green, Wellness, Design, Innovation, Heritage & Culture, and Community’ methodology that underpins our Group’s ethos is carefully measured. For every product and service, the Group ensures that project managers and designers address all six pillars, in accordance with the belief that in high-quality properties these values are holistically intertwined.

We look forward to ‘Creating Better Lifescapes’ with you.
